Refactoring to Serverless

Serverless computing has been around for several years now and is clearly here to stay. While it is often adopted in greenfield projects to accelerate development and reduce time-to-market, there is also significant value in applying serverless technologies within brownfield environments. Serverless is not an all-or-nothing approach. Existing projects can greatly benefit from introducing serverless solutions in targeted areas.

Depending on the system architecture, this can be as straightforward as rewriting an entire microservice or as complex as identifying a specific piece of code, extracting it, defining its interface, rewriting it, and adapting the surrounding components.

In this talk, we’ll look at how to spot the right parts of your system for a serverless makeover, choose the tools that fit your situation, handle the migration smoothly, and make sure everything works as expected when it goes live.
