Open Data Scotland: A resource for community, built by community
Open Data Scotland (opendata.scot) is an open-source, collaborative, and volunteer run project which lists the largest collection of open data in Scotland (1500+ datasets), provides analysis of the open data landscape and helps promote other projects which use this open data. All of this is to help the public understand what Open Data is available in Scotland.
The project is completely volunteer-built and maintained, and we encourage amateurs and hobbyists to build integral parts of the service because it is a service for community, built by the community.
In this session, we introduce opendata.scot as a resource for local data consumers, why Open Data is important and how it can be used, but also to share how anyone could get involved in the project no matter their technical capability or availability.
