Workshop: Accessibility Basics
This all-day workshop is designed to provide you with a comprehensive introduction to the key principles, standards, and best practices for ensuring digital accessibility. Whether you are new to the field or seeking to strengthen your knowledge, this workshop will equip you with essential tools and techniques to create inclusive digital experiences for all users.
Throughout the workshop, we will explore the fundamental concepts of accessibility, focusing on the practical steps to ensure digital content and technology are usable by people of all abilities. Key topics include:
An introduction to accessibility standards such as WCAG, WAI-ARIA, and best practices for web, mobile, and desktop environments.
An overview of assistive technologies and how users with disabilities interact with digital content.
Legal requirements, including the ADA, Section 508, and other relevant global accessibility laws.
Principles of Usability, User-Experience, and Universal Design.
At the end of this course, you should be well prepared to pass the CPACC certification test from the IAAP.
