Presentation Title:
The Mathematical Mind of the PMO: KPI and OKR
Detailed Presentation Overview:
In this session, The Mathematical Mind of the PMO: KPI and OKR, I present the key findings, patterns, and strategic insights derived from the global “Usage of KPI and OKR in PMOs” Survey, conducted between July and September 2025. The study brings together responses from 92 PMOs worldwide, representing diverse industries, maturity levels, and organizational structures.
The presentation explores how PMOs currently design, apply, and govern Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)—and, more importantly, how effectively these mechanisms contribute to strategic alignment and value creation. Rather than focusing solely on metrics, the session examines the mathematical mindset behind performance management in PMOs: how data is interpreted, how targets are set, and how measurement drives decision-making at both operational and executive levels.
The survey results reveal several unexpected and thought-provoking insights regarding KPI overload, OKR adoption challenges, executive engagement, and the gap between measurement and real value realization. These findings provide a data-driven perspective on where PMOs stand today—and where they must evolve to remain relevant at the C-level.
This presentation offers practical takeaways for PMO leaders, project professionals, and executives who aim to transform performance measurement from a reporting exercise into a strategic capability. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how KPIs and OKRs can shape the future role of PMOs as value-driven, strategy-focused organizational enablers.
