Transitioning Disabled Students from K-12 to College: Creating Effective Partnerships
Students with disabilities are attending college at unprecedented rates, and the COVID-19 pandemic further amplified the mental health crisis, leading to more students entering college with disabilities. This presentation will discuss the landscape of students with disabilities transitioning to college; the difference between the ADA and IDEA, the laws that govern disability accommodation at the K12 & college levels; and effective partnerships with campus disability/accessibility partners.
