The architect is the maystero of the orchestra. The architect is not just a designer; the architect can be the one who merges from the micro to the macro level from the
interior design to the urban design. One might think that Interior Design and Urban Design could not be further away from each other on the spectrum of design and their methodology. One studies design at a micro scale while the other focuses on a macro scale. we can find that these two disciplines are not that far removed from each other and even though they are at each extreme of the design spectrum, their core values and pillars are very comparable, if not almost the same. I think that each discipline could benefit from the knowledge of the other, since having knowledge in a micro and macro scale of design can only result in a more holistic approach to the built environment. Right now, Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architects
are the ones bridging the gap between these disciplines but I believe that we could benefit from the Interior's method of designing when trying to build for the people. In the end, out of all these disciplines, I believe Interior Designers have the most contact with ordinary people, on a day-to-day basis and we know how to relate really well, on a human scale.
