Build Fast, Run Smart: Government Agents
Council members often want direct feedback from residents about the programs and services offered in their constituency. However, collecting feedback across multiple programs, reviewing responses, identifying issues, and getting the right information to City departments can become a manual process.
In this session, we will explore how an autonomous agent built with Microsoft Copilot Studio can help automate this process. The agent can engage residents in a simple conversation, collect feedback about different City programs, ask relevant follow-up questions, identify common themes and concerns, and organize the feedback by program and department.
The agent can then summarize the findings and automatically route the relevant feedback to the appropriate City department for review and action, while providing the Council member with a consolidated view of resident sentiment.
This demonstrates how local governments can build focused, cost-effective autonomous agents for specific initiatives or temporary needs, rather than investing significant time and resources in large, permanent applications.
