Quota management across multiple Kubernetes clusters, in both compute and cost dimensions, is not a day 2 problem anymore. It is essential for efficiently managing clusters in the cloud and optimally using resources across a multi-tenant organisation.

We present a quota management solution implemented within Cloudera that tracks, allocates and enforces quota in cost and compute dimensions across multiple clusters by creating a hierarchical queue of quota pools. Quota is set and tracked not just on a queue level, but also among users and teams. The quota enforcement within clusters is powered by Apache YuniKorn, where as cost roll up across clusters is driven by application history tracking in Apache YuniKorn closely integrated with our quota manager.
