The Project Release Guidelines initiative was developed to define clear guidelines and best practices for managing project releases, aligned with CNCF project maturity expectations. It covers key areas such as versioning, branching strategies, release artifacts, security considerations, common governance patterns and communication processes.

In this workshop, we will share the progress of the initiative and facilitate a dynamic discussion on release best practices across the CNCF ecosystem. Together, we will explore questions such as: what signals indicate a project is ready to cut a release, which release practices are essential versus optional at early stages, and how release processes should evolve as projects mature toward Graduation.
