So, you think you know your keyboard?

If you're an information worker, you spend much of your time navigating and manipulating digital text via the keyboard. But are you making full use of it? The keyboard is our "artist's palette and paintbrush" as information workers, facilitating the transmission of information from our head to the digital page. I've seen many professionals, both software developers and otherwise, whose words-per-minute count is not what it could be. They don't have keyboard mastery at the level of muscle memory (yet!). There are little-used but powerful key combinations to rapidly navigate digital text in any text area, and this is true for any app running on any operating system. Embrace the power of the Tab key for discovery and autocompletion! Discover and take advantage of whatever hotkeys your operating system or tools expose to get more done in less time!

This talk includes recommendations for increasing attendees' base typing speed as well as more rapidly navigating text blocks, selecting text, and manipulating text. It also touches on some related skills related to enhancing digital memory with clipboard history tools, achieving excellence repeatedly with task automation, and delegation of drudgery to AI agents.
