Adapt or Die: Surviving the AI Revolution
The AI revolution will unrecognizably transform our society, culture, and economic prospects, as we're already starting to see. This raises natural concerns about our employment, our place in the world, and what it means to have spent decades becoming experts in something that may no longer be relevant. It's big, and it's scary, but it's not new; human civilization has a history of technological revolutions of similar scope that rewrote our paths into the future.
This talk dives into our history of massive technological changes, how our society and workforce adapted, and how that compares to what we're seeing today. We draw lessons from the invention of the writing, the printing press, industrial mechanization, and computers to understand what's going to change and how we can adapt. Because AI is, indeed, coming for our jobs, but that doesn't mean there's no use for us quite yet.
