From Maker to Architect: Designing a governance model that grows people

Governance is often framed as control. Control over environments, DLP policies, approval processes, restrictions.

But what if governance was also about growth?

In this session, we explore how to design a Power Platform governance model that doesn’t just define rules, but defines roles. We’ll look at how to structure a governance team, identify different maker personas, and create a clear path for people to move from beginner maker to solution architect.

What happens when someone evolves from building simple canvas apps to owning enterprise-grade solutions?
How should their responsibilities change?
What tools should they gain access to? And when?

Through practical examples and real-world governance patterns, this session shows how to build a model that enables innovation while protecting the platform, and how to make progression intentional instead of accidental.
