we would like to submit our original research “Integrative Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine Psychosomatic Rehabilitation Online Group Therapy（TCM-Psycho eRhab） for Colorectal Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study” to the 19th SIO annual conference’s abstract session. Though after radical cancer treatments, colorectal cancer survivors still face many unmet needs for survivorship care, including fear of cancer recurrence, lacking support or necessary information, and symptoms burden. Same as this year’s theme, how to effectively deliver multidisciplinary integrative oncology care to CRC survivors is a critical scientific question and clinical issue. Our research team established an Integrative Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine Psychosomatic Rehabilitation Online Group program (TCM-Psycho eRhab) according to CRC survivors’ needs and willingness in China. The current study is a single arm pilot clinical study(n=39) to evaluate the efficacy of TCM-Psycho eRhab on relieving cancer related stress for CRC survivors. Our results showed that after six-week intervention(90-minute online communication, as well as TCM combined lifestyle consultation and mindfulness training pre week), the level of anxiety, depression, fear of cancer recurrence and certain cancer related symptoms among recruited CRC survivors decreased significantly. On the next step, we are planning to launch a randomized controlled clinical trial to evaluate its efficacy and provide more evidence for future clinical application.
