Changes in HPV related cancer prevention knowledge among students at a health professions university
This teaching and learning session will highlight the feasibility of developing interprofessional health education promotion strategies to support HPV vaccine awareness for health professions institutions. Several types of HPV-related cancers in the U.S. have steadily increased over the past two decades. Despite robust efforts to expand HPV immunization coverage, rates remain low among adolescents both nationally (<80%) and globally (<30%). Given lower-than-desired HPV vaccination rates, exploring educational strategies to enhance HPV vaccination knowledge and attitudes of allied health students may ultimately advance efforts toward improving HPV vaccination rates for eligible individuals.
