Accessibility Allies: Assemble!

You've decided to make your website accessible. While great as a resolution, the details and implementation are much more complex. Who do you make your website for? What does an average user look like to you? The portrait of the "average" user is constantly expanding and including a wider diversity of users that it's a simple calculus: 15% of the world will experience a disability. Is your website or mobile app ready? We’re here to help you take action!
Engaging all members of the development lifecycle not only increases the chances of success, it ultimately saves time and money. So how do we get there?
In this advanced workshop, we'll explore ways to engage the full development lifecycle. Attendees will:

-Workshop accessibility requirements in ticket creation to ensure the work to be done has the necessary components to be accessible. We'll share minimal requirements and look into more advanced topics for feature development.
-Learn about disability emulation for communicating needs to clients, leads, and developers. We'll discuss browser extensions and ways to encourage accessibility-mindedness in the workplace.
-Implement simple solutions for checking code as development progresses. We'll learn about tools that provide feedback to developers before code can become a violation.
-Break down the auditing process and run audits on live websites. We'll analyze live code for violations and build confidence in anticipating violations before code goes live.
