Designing for people-friendly algorithms

In a world where the product uniquely adapts to each user, we find that creating personalized products requires a new type of mindset and approach to design. User-centred design is no longer enough, the interfaces of the future must be easy for people to use & easy for algorithms to analyze.

As designers, this means we have a vital role to play in algorithm-driven initiatives —bringing a human-centred perspective to a technology that can too easily overlook the end-user. If we don't apply a human-centred lens to our design process, we risk optimizing for solutions that don't resonate with users—or worse, completely delivering the wrong solution.

In this talk, we would cover practical tips on how to harmoniously pair algorithms with intelligently crafted interfaces in order to succeed with our solutions.
