Learning at the Speed of Change: How Small Experiments Transformed Our Culture

Culture isn’t changed through policies or posters, it’s changed through experiments.

In this session, we share how a mid-sized South African tech company began using small, low-risk “people experiments” to reshape the way teams learn, connect, and reflect. From experimenting with a dedicated learning hour each week, to director-led 1:1 check-ins, to removing retros altogether and trusting teams to reflect in their own rhythm, these lightweight tests began to shift how people related, learned, and led.

You’ll explore how curiosity became a core leadership muscle, and how iterative learning practices helped the organisation adapt faster than it changed. Then, you’ll design and name your own “people experiment” to take back to your team, turning insights into action.
