What five-star service and high-performing teams have in common

TLDR: I'd like to talk about changing careers at 33 years old, and the fears and mental blockages I experienced, even though a lot of the soft skills I already had.

As a 23 year-old Portuguese girl with a bachelors degree in Tourism, I initiated my career in hospitality while at the same time exploring the world.
I spent years working at hotels and yachts in a few different countries, where I collected some of the craziest stories and adventures.
Fast-forward 10 years, when I scarily decided to make a career shift, I didn't know how much of the Scrum Master skills I already had in me. But today, and the longer I work in agile, the more I realise the two worlds are not as different as they look.
- Both are fundamentally about anticipating needs, not just reacting to them.
- The product is secondary to the experience of the people involved.
- Great service and great scrum mastering is mostly noticed when it's missing.
- Your mission is to make others shine.
- Years of reading guests teaches you to read rooms, and a room full of teammates is no different.
- Pressure is no excuse to drop the standard, whether you're behind the bar or a sprint.
