Session
Eight hours of work in 20 minutes.
Do you suffer from declining performance for your ETL process? Perhaps you added indexes to your existing tables and now ETL runs forever, causing reporting delays.
Come to this session to learn how you can use Sql Server partitioning to speed up your ETL. As a bonus, you will also learn how to purge historical data as a metadata only operation.
After attending this session, you will have learned:
- How to create new, partitioned tables in Sql Server
- How to partition an existing table with data in it
- How to switch in and switch out partitions to perform mainteance (or purge old data).
- What to look for in terms of performance for the T-SQL queries using your partitioned tables.
