AI-Powered Dev Workflows: From IDE Agent Mode to GitHub Coding Agent with MCP
In this session, you’ll dive into GitHub Copilot’s new agent mode in VS Code, Visual Studio, and JetBrains IDEs—empowering you with synchronous AI workflows that can create apps from scratch, perform cross-file refactorings, generate tests, and migrate legacy .NET code seamlessly within your local environment.
You’ll then explore GitHub Coding Agent on the GitHub platform, where simply assigning an issue to Copilot spins up a secure GitHub Actions sandbox that clones your repo, generates commits in a draft pull request, and logs its decision process for full traceability.
We’ll cover configuring and securing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to inject real-time project context into both local IDE agents and cloud-based coding agents—unlocking richer, context-driven AI collaboration across your development workflows
