Reducing Information Overload in Your Organization: Alleviate Employee Suffering

Information overload is a major challenge faced by organizations today, with employees feeling overwhelmed and disengaged by the sheer volume of information they receive. However, recent research shows that it is not the amount of information that is the problem, but rather the burden that comes with it. In this session, we will explore the steps organizations can take to reduce information burden and create a low-burden culture that boosts productivity and employee engagement.

Drawing on the findings of a study by Gartner that surveyed almost 1,000 employees and managers, we will discuss the real costs of information overload, including decreased alignment with company strategy, decreased retention rates, and increased burnout and disengagement. We will also explore the four key elements of information burden - duplicative, irrelevant, effort-intensive, and inconsistent information - and how they contribute to employee suffering and reduced productivity.
