Inclusion by design: engineering team workflows for different brains

Engineering teams obsess over system design, yet many still run on workflows that only work for one kind of brain. The result is familiar friction: ambiguous meetings, noisy emails, unclear requirements, and fragile onboarding. This talk treats inclusion not as a slogan but as an engineering problem: if a workflow only works for a narrow cognitive profile, it is badly designed.
I will share practical patterns to redesign technical collaboration (yes, I will show code!), models for decision‑making, checklists, case studies from large‑scale, legacy environments. I draw on three sources: my activism and lived experience as a neurodivergent professional, my legal training and nearly two decades at the intersection of law and technology, and a career inside major Italian tech and finance organisations where I’ve seen what breaks and what works. This session is for tech leads and IT managers who want to reduce ambiguity and build workflows that scale across different cognitive profiles.
