Generative AI popularly known as Gen AI is a tool used to retrieve content based on existing data and algorithms. Gen AI is driving positive change in the African continent including Nigeria.

We are aware that AI has come to stay. Hence, the earlier we embrace it into our lives and careers the more advantageous it becomes. This Abstract aims to address the importance of Gen AI in bringing developments and changes to our local community.

Gen AI can be used to solve problems of preserving traditional culture by passing on history to the later generation by either narration or description using tools and even games. Gen AI can also be used to help our agricultural sector in Nigeria by determining which weather conditions are favorable for cropping and which crops should be considered.

Furthermore, Gen AI can also bring a desired life of hygiene to the people of rural areas in the form of clean drinking water which can also be used for cooking. In this way, contact with deadly diseases such as cholera can be reduced or even eliminated if possible.

The change that Gen AI is bringing to the African continent, and specifically, Nigeria is big. Key sectors such as health, agricultural, and cultural sectors are being preserved with the advent of Gen AI. This shows there is hope as it will make life better for our local community in Nigeria, and Africa as a whole.
