As a foreigner in Scotland and speaking four languages, I soon came across the correlation between spoken languages and programming languages as I started my journey in learning how to code. In this talk, I will analyse the similarities and differences spoken languages and programming languages have. Among these, syntax, semantics, morphology, rules. It’s important to understand this correlation in fields such as machine translation, speech recognition, speech synthesis, text mining, grammar checking, and information retrieval.
