What the Advent of Code taught me about JavaScript and its quirks
The Advent of Code is an annual free coding competition that happens in December since 2015. It has quickly become one of the favorite among developers thanks to the quality of its problems, the growing challenges and the festive atmosphere.
As one that has chosen JavaScript as his language of choice to solve the problems, sometimes I had to use it in ways that I've never adopted in my professional, day-to-day code. That forced me to explore the nook and crannies of how JavaScript is compiled and executed, how the memory heap is used and I could adopt some of that to my everyday job.
