Bringing Berlin's Tech Scene into View: 140+ Events, a Book, and Lessons Learned

Berlin’s tech scene is buzzing, but how do you make sense of it all? Over the past years I have attended more than 100 tech events across the city, documenting my experiences in a series of LinkedIn Event Report articles and distilling key insights into my book Other People’s Software Endeavours.

In this lightning talk I will share what I have learned from technology scouting on the ground. You will hear about the patterns and themes that emerge when immersing yourself in Berlin’s diverse tech community. I will explain how attending events can sharpen your perspective as a data architect and consultant. I will also reflect on the process of turning observations into structured insights and even a published book.

Whether you are curious about Berlin’s tech ecosystem, looking to broaden your own technology radar, or seeking inspiration to navigate data challenges more strategically, this session offers a fast-paced, experience-driven tour through the city’s innovation landscape.

I will also share my vision for the future of technology scouting and how it can empower both individuals and organizations. Most importantly, I hope to gather feedback from the audience and learn from your perspectives to further shape this vision together.
