The full Circle of Application Lifecycle Management - In all sizes
Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is often discussed as an “Enterprise Problem,” yet in reality every solution - from a single-maker app to a mission-critical platform - lives or fails by how well its lifecycle is managed.
In this session, we’ll take a practical, end-to-end look at the full circle of ALM, showing how the same core principles apply whether you’re working solo, in a small team, or at enterprise scale.
You’ll discover insights into how release notes, versioning strategies, pipelines, and release cycles connect into one continuous lifecycle, rather than isolated technical tasks. You’ll learn how to design ALM practices that grow with you, avoiding both over-engineering for small projects and under-engineering for large ones.
You’ll also understand the trade-offs and decision points that teams face as they mature - when to keep things simple, and when structure becomes essential.
This session combines real-world case studies, concrete examples, and interactive discussion moments where attendees can map ALM concepts to their own environments.
We’ll compare lightweight and enterprise-grade approaches side by side, highlighting what changes as scale, risk, and team size increase - and what surprisingly stays the same.
My passion for this topic comes from seeing how many teams struggle not because of tools, but because the lifecycle was never designed intentionally. When ALM “clicks,” teams release with confidence, communicate clearly through meaningful release notes, and turn deployments into a routine instead of a risk.
