Designing the Game: Why the Future of Web Architecture is an Act of Invention
In 1931, Kurt Gödel proved that you cannot find all the truths of a system if you stay trapped inside its rules. Today, web development feels like a game where the rules—lifecycles, complex hooks, and unpredictable state—have become so convoluted that we’ve lost sight of the goal. If the system is broken, we don't need better players (or faster AI); we need a new game.
In this talk, we’ll discuss why software development is the art of inventing new systems of rules. Drawing parallels between Gödel’s theorems and modern coding, we’ll explore the difference between 'coding by average' and 'architecting by intent'.
I will introduce Inglorious, a suite born from the deliberate invention of a new architectural 'game'. By stripping away traditional lifecycles and establishing a new set of axioms based on pure functions and absolute predictability, we haven't just built a library—we've created a space where elegant solutions are waiting to be discovered.
We will explore:
The Architect as Inventor: Why defining the rules (axioms) is the only way to escape the mediocrity of AI-generated patterns.
The Inglorious Ruleset: How a minimalist set of constraints (no hooks, pure logic) creates a superior 'fitness landscape' for developers.
Discovery within Invention: Why, once you invent the right rules, the 'perfect' code starts to reveal itself.
Join me to learn why the next decade of web development won't be about mastering existing frameworks, but about having the courage to invent the rules of the next one.
