Responsible AI: A Practical Guide for Organisations and Developers
AI has moved from experimentation to execution at an astonishing pace. In the race to innovate, many organisations have adopted AI systems without fully grasping the consequences. But as JP Morgan’s recent open letter makes painfully evident, the cost of unchecked adoption is mounting.
The open letter by JP Morgan, revealed a stark reality: 78 percent of enterprise AI deployments lack basic security protocols, and most organisations cannot explain how their systems arrive at their decisions. This raises many ethical and security issues, and highlight the importance of proper governance around AI development and deployment.
This session offers a practical guide for both decision-makers and developers in developing and deploying AI responsibly and with minimal risk. Attendees will leave with actionable tools and a fresh perspective: Responsible AI is not a checkbox. It is the foundation for building secure, ethical, and sustainable systems that organisations and society can trust. This session is an extension of the talk I gave at last year's Community Day, and forms part of my broader research into responsible AI (especially in Africa), where I'm presenting a research paper at the Diversity Equality and Inclusion Conference in Athens in the latter part of the year. Looking forward to hearing from you, and sharing my insights with your broader AI community.
