Getting Started with Jakarta EE 11 and What’s New in Jakarta EE 12

Jakarta EE 11, released in June 2025, focused on productivity and innovation, delivered: updates to 16 specifications; a new specification, Jakarta Data; and sets the baseline to Java 21, the latest LTS release.

With a planned release of July 2026, work has already started with Jakarta EE 12. As of early May 2025, there are approximately 20 specifications in which their respective reviews have passed. There is one confirmed new specification, Jakarta Query, and at least two, Jakarta Portlet and Jakarta Faces Bridge, that are under creation review.

This presentation will provide help you get started using Jakarta EE 11 with working examples along with a sneak peek at what you can expect in Jakarta EE 12.
