OpenAPI documents are often of poor quality and quickly deviate from implementation in practice. However, there are a variety of open source tools that can make life easier for developers and improve the quality of reference documentation and APIs.

In my presentation, I will explain how you can use OpenAPI tools for automation in the CI/CD pipeline and introduce you to a selection of open-source tools that are essential in my personal OpenAPI toolbox. I will give live demonstrations of mocking with Prism, linting with Spectral and Vacuum, formatting with openapi-format, and contract testing with portman and newman.

With my GitHub playground as a starting point, you can then easily try out the tools with your own APIs.
