Accessibility for State Governments - Getting an A Rating

State governments are working diligently to improve accessibility for all state-owned properties.

The State of Iowa has prioritized accessibility as a metric of success. In this talk we'll learn about current steps to check accessibility against Lighthouse scoring for every pull request, existing audit tools, how our front-end team accessibility into their build proces, and how to continuously test and evaluate accessibility as part of ongoing development

The current platform websites (40+ sites) are accessible to the following standards:
WCAG 2.1 Level A/AA
WAI-ARIA 1.2
ATAG 2.0
Revised Section 508

Participants will learn tools, design systems and color palettes, reporting and ongoing accessibility checks, and where the State is still attempting to improve.
