Beyond the Defender Dashboard: An Automated, Correlated Risk Overview of Your Entire Microsoft Cloud
Your security risks are spread across Microsoft Defender, Entra ID, Active Directory and Azure, and each tool shows its own piece. The same server appears as a Defender device, an Azure VM and an AD computer. Identities hold permissions in places no single console shows. And the CMDB that should tie it all together is months behind. Building one complete overview of your security risks by hand is impossible, and keeping it current is even harder.
This session shows how to build that overview fully automated, from the data you already have, with no agents and no manual tagging:
• Correlation: Defender, Entra ID, Active Directory, Azure and Exposure Graph are joined into one asset with one history, so nothing is counted twice or missed.
• Dynamic tiering: more than 550 built-in rules classify every server, client and Azure resource as Tier 0-3, and identities are tiered from their actual permissions. Everything updates automatically as your environment changes.
• Prioritization: every security risk is scored by consequence, criticality, risk factors and business context from your CMDB, so you know what to fix first.
• Ownership: every asset and risk is linked to its department and service.
• Closing the loop: every vulnerability is tracked as it's opened, updated, closed and reopened, with ServiceNow tickets kept in step. A vulnerability counts as fixed only on evidence, never because a device went quiet.
You'll also see how it runs in your own Azure, with read-only collection and managed identities with no stored secrets. New detection rules and risk factors arrive every month.
All demos use the latest version of SecurityInsight, a free community tool developed by the speaker.
