Organizations have invested heavily in trusted KPIs and semantic models, but AI introduces a new risk: agents may reinterpret raw data instead of using approved business definitions. This session shows how to extend a governed analytics foundation into AI-powered decision intelligence with Microsoft Fabric. We will begin with trusted measures and semantic models, then add Fabric IQ business context, rules, and agents to investigate changes, explain relationships, and recommend next actions. Using a practical variance and operational-performance scenario, we will demonstrate how the same governed definitions can support Power BI analysis, natural-language exploration, and agent-assisted workflows. We will also examine common failure patterns such as recalculating established metrics or generating explanations without evidence.
