Gaussian Splatting for Immersive Storytelling

Gaussian Splatting is the latest innovation in radiance fields, allowing easy capture and rendering of photorealistic environments.

However, the current state of tools makes it difficult to create immersive narrative experiences with Gaussian Splats.

Our team at the Mobile and Environmental Media Lab at the University of Southern California created a short VR narrative film by extending available JavaScript libraries.

In this workshop, we will take a look at the tools available for artists, give a hands-on demonstration on how to create artistic representations of scenes and even string them together with audio to create immersive narrative experiences in XR.
