State of Open Source Development in China

China stands as a significant adopter of open-source software and hosts numerous renowned open-source projects. With open source being incorporated into the government's 14th Five-Year Plan in 2021, there was a notable surge in China's open-source ecosystem. However, this growth also brought various challenges, including hurdles in commercializing open-source startups, a lack of metrics for enterprises to gauge their involvement in open source, and internal governance regarding open-source compliance, etc.

In a concise 15-minute talk, the speaker aims to offer a swift overview of the current landscape of open-source development in China, intending to assist those interested in China or aiming to enter the Chinese market to swiftly grasp the evolution of open source within the country.
