Azure Database for PostgreSQL is a powerful open-source relational enterprise database and has attracted a lot of interest from enterprises for its wide range of features. However, for many enterprises with extensive Oracle footprints, the struggle is how to overcome vendor lock-in and make applications on Oracle work with the Azure Database for PostgreSQL.

In this talk we will:

- Outline the challenges of moving applications and databases from Oracle to Azure Database for PostgreSQL

- Introduce the concept of database virtualization and how it tackles the challenges of database vendor lock-in

- Demonstrate how Azure Database for PostgreSQL and Liberatii Gateway can outperform Oracle databases in performance.
