Cloud App and Infra Observability excellence

Across the industry, most cloud workloads run without anyone having a clear picture of how they are performing, what they cost, or whether they are secure. Observability is the missing foundation, and this session is about building it right.

The Cloud promised pay-per-use, global business reach, green applications, and full security. But none of those rewards can be reaped without first laying the correct observable groundwork. Developing observable application code, configuring infrastructure diagnostics, collecting the right logs and metrics, storing them properly, and transforming data into actionable insights -- this is the work that makes everything else possible.

At the IKEA Cloud Engineering department, I help oversee the corporate cloud platform, guiding many teams through migration, modernization, and optimization at enterprise scale. Time and again, the teams that struggle are the ones that did not have the cloud experience to get the observability story straight. Cloud Developer Efficiency in the Enterprise

In most enterprises, getting a new cloud environment ready for a workload takes days or weeks, blocked on manual approvals, inconsistent configurations, and tribal knowledge. It does not have to work that way.

The self-service landing zone concept addresses this directly, and many of us are building on and perfecting this type of solution. A new Azure subscription in the corporate environment requires a long list of precise configurations: access groups, virtual networks, network routes, governance policies, and more. Done manually, this process is slow, error-prone, and impossible to scale. Done right, it runs in minutes with no human in the loop.

Getting there requires internal self-service APIs that enable speed while enforcing standards, and an automation authority model that removes the need for manual approvals without removing accountability. When the landing zone is ready, cloud consumers can deploy infrastructure through IaC pipelines and operate confidently within the guardrails from day one.

I have helped many enterprises make this shift. The efficiency gain is significant, but the bigger win is consistency: every landing zone, its connectivity, and access to it, correct, every time, at any scale.

Who's Flying This Cloud? Operational Excellence with Azure Copilot

Azure Copilot is evolving from a conversational interface into a fleet of specialised agents for investigating, troubleshooting, deploying, optimising, and operating the cloud. Modern applications generate an overwhelming volume of telemetry, configuration data, and operational context, far more than any human can absorb, correlate, and act on at the speed modern cloud operations require. Copilot does much of the heavy investigative lifting, turning a sky full of signals into a clear forecast: findings, plans, and proposed actions. Yet the captain still makes the call.
This session takes a practical, demo-led look at operating with Azure Copilot, drawing on my experience as an Azure MVP providing feedback to the team building Copilot since its earliest days. We will explore the current agents, examine what each one delivers in practice (an explanation, a plan, a script, or a pull request), and see exactly where the approval gate sits before anything changes in your environment.
Operating with Copilot also means understanding the control tower: who is cleared for take-off through admin controls; what Copilot can access and act on through your identity, RBAC, Azure Policy, and resource locks; and how BYOS retains every Copilot interaction in your own environment for audit and governance.
Packed with the latest capabilities announced at Microsoft Ignite, this session covers where Copilot is heading as well as what you can use today. You will leave knowing what Copilot can do for you, how to roll it out safely from day one, and where the captain's seat remains yours.
