This session hopes to share industrial insight, emerging concepts and methodologies used to accurately determined formation gamma ray readings from a potassium formate formulated mud system and also when acquisition tool is a probe device. Whereas, the way FE data is collected, processed and transmitted is the same for tools which make contact to formation wall and those who uses a source and receiver, probe devices are more prone in their readings as the sensor is completely surrounding by mud. Furthermore, an accurate determination of potassium from potassium formate compound is crucial in effecting environmental corrections that results in determining intrinsic formation readings. In this work, comparative analysis was carried out between recorded data from downhole, processed data and also offset data from the field.
