Historically, developers have been able to embed Power Apps and Power Automate into Power BI reports to write data back from a Power BI report to a database or call an API. However, this adds more complexity to the solution and requires additional licensing. Translytical task flows are a significant evolution that enables developers to easily automate end-user actions directly within the Power BI report.

This session will cover all the required steps when building a solution with this new functionality. In addition, we will dive deep into the crucial ones. I will also demonstrate how to make a Power BI report and the different ways you can use the data in your report as input with Translytical task flows.

User Data Functions (UDFs) enables these capabilities with custom Python logic hosted in Microsoft Fabric. What is the best way to develop and test the solution? How do we install custom libraries? What options do we have for triggering the execution? I will answer all of these questions during this session. In addition, I will also demonstrate how to develop and test a UDF locally before publishing it to Microsoft Fabric.
