What is Debian and why is the global community coming to Argentina?
Debian is one of the most important free software projects in the world. It is built by a large community of developers and volunteers working together to create a universal and stable operating system. This talk aims to introduce the Debian Project, how it is organized, how its community works, and why it is so relevant at a global level. We will also highlight what lies behind such a major event as DebConf and why, after more than a decade, it is returning to our country in 2026 (DebConf26) in Santa Fe. We will share experiences, stories, and how you can get involved in this project and its community, regardless of your technical background.
