Sustainable Demand Shifting

Sustainability is about meeting the needs of the present – without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. As software engineers, we have a responsibility to ensure minimise the carbon footprint of the software we write and not treat resources like CPU and storage as an infinite commodity.

Sustainable Demand Shifting is a pattern for enabling applications to run where and when the carbon intensity is at its lowest.

In this session, I demonstrate how Sustainable Demand Shifting can be implemented in Azure to reduce the carbon footprint of applications.
