Getting Your Data Secure and Ready for Copilot
Many organizations are eager to roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot, but quickly discover that AI surfaces both the value and the problems hidden within their data.
Oversharing, inconsistent permissions, stale SharePoint sites, external access, missing classifications, sensitive information, and unclear ownership can all become part of the Copilot readiness challenge. Copilot does not create these governance problems, but it can make the consequences much harder to ignore.
So how do you actually get your data ready?
In this session, we’ll look at the practical work required to secure and prepare Microsoft 365 data for Copilot. Drawing on real-world customer engagements, we’ll explore how to identify governance and data security risks, decide what matters most, and prioritize remediation without trying to fix everything at once.
We’ll connect SharePoint and OneDrive governance with Microsoft Purview capabilities such as Microsoft Information Protection, sensitivity labels, Data Loss Prevention, and audit, with a focus on assessing risk and turning technical findings into practical governance actions.
Along the way, we’ll look at real-world examples, lessons learned from customer environments, and discuss where to start, what to prioritize, and what not to do.
Whether you’re preparing for Copilot or already have it in production, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your data risks and the practical steps you can take to make Microsoft 365 more secure, governed, and ready for Copilot.
