From Data to Product: How to Build Reusable Data Products in Microsoft Fabric
Data Products and Data Mesh in Microsoft Fabric. This session will showcase best practices for building reusable assets (such as Semantic Models and Power BI reports) from separate domains in the Lakehouse, promoting collaboration across teams without losing control or duplicating data.
Example: A marketing domain exposes a semantic model with validated metrics, and other teams consume it from Power BI as a data product.
What you need:
• Microsoft Fabric Trial Workspace (60 days)
• Two or more Lakehouses (simulating separate domains)
• Use of Shortcuts in OneLake to share data without duplication
• Semantic Models in Power BI (Datasets)
• Power BI Desktop or Service to share reusable models
