Session

Not ready for Kubernetes? No problem. Here are some alternatives for your containers.

Containerization is an important first step in the cloud native journey. However, not every team is ready to use Kubernetes, as it requires considerable resources and training. Thankfully, there are great alternatives that will keep you on the right track and help take your org to the next level.

Kubernetes is an amazingly powerful platform, it allows you to run resilient, scalable workloads and has become an industry standard for orchestration. But all that power requires significant planning, setup, configuration, and management and not all teams are ready to undertake the effort that it takes to run and manage their own cluster.

Containerizing your app is a crucial step in modernization efforts, and thankfully there are excellent alternatives available to host your containerized apps without having to manage a Kubernetes cluster.

In this session, we will explore PaaS and Serverless alternatives provided by Azure, including App Services, Container Instances, and, most excitingly, Container Apps. We will use Azure services for the demos but will mention similar offerings on other clouds.
