Change for Survival: Digital Transformation with Kanban

It all started when the elderly owner of an artisanal metalworking company left it, and the new management decided to start a Digital Transformation process.

This story tells how you can turn the page, working alongside the people walking a challenging path of small goals.

It was a daily effort supporting and facilitating topical moments and painful crises, bringing people to open up to discussion and collaboration, and working on listening and trust to erode prejudices.

I started from the event storming to know the domain, travelling to turn the offices into teams with the physical boards to bring out the work, and the retrospectives to remove the pebbles from the shoes, digitising all the boards and the process to simplify communications creating collaboration and agility around the value stream to continue selling, designing, programming, producing and serving.

A unique and unrepeatable experience which tells how much people can make a difference and the right instrument can facilitate their work.

The story of how a company's people learn quickly to look after themselves, fighting against toxicity and inertia also thanks to processes and tools.
