Are you still writing code by hand? So am I - Agentic coding without the hype

Ever since Claude Code had its moment over the 2025 Holidays, AI-labs and self-proclaimed experts seem desperate to convince you that hand-writing code is dead and buried. "Software engineering is solved!", they shout. You're supposed to be wielding loops over loops of agent swarms that produce millions of lines of code per day. Be honest... is that already daily routine where you work?

People painting this picture of reality either have not touched any production code for years or have massive skin in the AI game. If you - like me - feel like an imposter amongst all this AI noise and are not getting the 100x productivity gain everyone else is boasting about, this session is for you.

In this session, I will share my journey in adopting AI assisted software development into my software engineering practice. How to make practical use of coding agents, skills and MCP's to reduce tedious boilerplate coding and focus on writing crucial logic that matters. Yes, sometimes by hand.
