In this talk, we’ll begin with a brief walkthrough of Microsoft Orleans—examining its virtual actor model, development workflow, and runtime architecture. We’ll then highlight the five key considerations that may discourage its use, like increased system complexity or mismatch architecture with your domain. By the end, you’ll hopefully have a balanced, practical understanding of when Orleans can deliver real value and when to think twice before adopting it.
