Streaming in Kafka: Building Resilient Postgres Pipelines with Kafka Connect on Kubernetes
Moving data between databases shouldn't involve writing fragile, custom batch applications. In this live-demo-driven session, we will build an end-to-end event-driven pipeline on Kubernetes from scratch using Apache Kafka and Strimzi. You’ll see exactly how to leverage Debezium for low-latency Change Data Capture (CDC) from a PostgreSQL source database, stream those transaction logs into Kafka topics, and reliably materialize them into a target database using the JDBC Sink Connector.
Target Audience: Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, Database Administrators (DBAs), and Systems Architects exploring real-time data replication patterns.
Session Duration: 45 minutes (15 minutes architecture overview + 20 minutes live-demo/manifest breakdown + 10 minutes Q&A).
Level: Intermediate (Assumes basic familiarity with Kubernetes and Kafka and Databases).
