Quest Mode: Design & Build a Gamified Onboarding Agent with Microsoft 365 Copilot + Power Platform
Most organisations already have onboarding content. Some also tried chatbots or simple agents for new employees. But often the experiences feels flat and boring. It is hard to find the right content. And many people stop using it very quickly.
This Full-day tutorial includes hands-on labs. You will design and prototype a Gamified Onboarding Agent that fits a real Microsoft 365 environment and onboarding reality. You will learn how to translate an onboarding journey into a storyline, quests, XPs and feedback loops and how to implement the agent backbone and a lightweight “quest layer” using Microsoft 365, Copilot and the Power Platform. Where possible, you also get a community starter kit with templates, canvases and sample assets. We will share it openly after the event so you can reuse and adapt the approach after the conference.
In the morning we start from your reality. We look at typical current onboarding journeys, your content, and the tools you already use in Microsoft 365. We map pain points and opportunities. Then we use game thinking to shape the "players journey" into quests, xp and achievements. Together we define player roles, core loops, rewards and progression for the first weeks of a new employee.
In the afternoon we move into the build mode. You will sketch the agent experience and implement a working prototype using Teams, Copilot, Power Apps and Power Platform building blocks. You will create the data structure and basic flows, then add a gamified experience layer. This will be a simple Onboarding Quest canvas app in a game inspired style to track progress, achievements and connect back to the agent.
By the end of the day you will have a tangible prototype or a high fidelity concept, depending from where you start. You will also have a repeatable framework you can use for other scenarios. And you will have a shared language to work better together across business, IT and User experience design.
